We have been making 100% cotton, "Olson"-style masks along with our traditional pleated masks for charity. We have been selling the masks to members of our Creekside community to help us offset the costs associated with creating charity masks for organizations like the Durham Children's Initiative, Interfaith Food Shuttle and more.
The contoured, reusable "Olson"-style masks have a pocket for a washable polypropylene filter (included). They also feature a channel to accommodate a flexible aluminum nose bridge wire (included) which creates a tighter fit. This can reduce the fog created by wearing the mask and glasses at the same time. With two types of masks for sale, we can raise funds in support of our adopted school and other charities serving children and families in the greater Triangle area.
Our Olson-style masks come in three adult sizes: S/M, M/L, and XL. The masks feature adjustable elastic straps. We are now adding children's masks for a limited time. Our next community sale with be held in early January. If you need a mask before our next announced sale, please email us at email@example.com
Proceeds from mask sales were used to offset the expenses associated with Creekside Cares becoming a federally designated nonprofit. A small share of the proceeds will continue to be used to purchase additional notions and fabrics if necessary.
Other proceeds will be offset expenses like our Teacher Appreciation event in January 2021 for the educators at WG Pearson Elementary.
